Ana de Armas was born on April 30, 1988 in Santa Cruz del Norte, Cuba. From an early age of 14, she started studying at the National Theatre School of Havana for 4 years. She made her first film at the age of 16, staring in “Virgin Rose” (2006). Her major break into the acting industry start when she moved to Spain and started on a popular Spanish TV series “El Interanado” playing the role of Carolina. Her acting success continued as she gained more exposure, such as staring in the film “Mentiras y gordas” (2009) and the TV series “Hispania, a leyenda” (2010-2012). In 2014 Ana de Armas moved back to Los Angeles and appeared in her first big American film, starring with Keanu Reeves in the erotic horror film “Knock Knock.” The young actress is just beginning her acting career as she becomes more mainstream in Hollywood, with recent films such as “Exposed” (2016), and “Blade Runner 2049” (2017).

Ana married Spanish actor Marc Clotet in 2011, but the two divorced just two years later. Ana currently makes her home in Los Angeles.
